Diwa ng Kalayaan (Spirit of Independence) 2011

MARIA VICTORIA SANAGUSTIN is the Philippine Independence Day Council, Inc. (PIDCI) Diwa ng Kalayaan (Spirit of Independence) of 2011, besting five other young and beauteous dalagang Filipina entries in the contest. Marvee, as she is nicknamed, is an American-Filipino having been born in Livingston 16 years ago to Vicente A. and Mary Ann Sanagustin. She has a brother and two sisters (top photo, below left) and the family make their home now in Union, New Jersey. Marvee goes to Union High School, and has a Half Black Belt in Martial Arts.
