Street Fair
It's a Filipino Food Festival and a Mini-Expo. On the East side of the Avenue, two blocks of sumptuous Filipino food: the distinctive, ubiquitous mouth-watering Filipino barbeque, the cool cooling truly Filipino Halo-Halo (Mix-Mix); and on the West side of the Avenue, straddling beautiful Madison Square Park, a two-block Mini-Expo of goods, merchandise, services and corporate booths aplenty.

Opening Ceremonies Independence Day Parade
A brief ceremony kicks off the much-awaited centerpiece of the day's celberation – the Independence Day Parade. Among those in the ceremony are the Guest of Honor, the Grand Marshal of the Independence Day Parade, many times the Mayor of New York City, other city officials, Special Guests from the Philippines, the Philippine Ambassador to the US, the Philippine Consul General in New York, other Consulate General officials, the Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the UN, and many other VIPs. Ribbon-cutting, and the Parade is on its way. Last year, the Vice President of the Philippines, the Honorable Mr. Jejomar Binay was the Guest of Honor at the all-day celebration.

Independence Day Parade
The Parade is led by the 2012 Independence Day Parade Grand Marshal, Filipino community leaders, Philippine Government officials, New York City Government officials, honored guests as spearhead, with contingents of marchers from Fil-Am associations, Marching Bands, floats, open cars, and many others.
