Introduction: Mrs. Kalayaan

The Philippine Independence Day Council, Inc. (PIDCI), in its continuing quest to expand interest in the annual commemoration of the declaration of Philippine Independence, now introduces the search for Mrs. Kalayaan (Mrs. Independence) as an additional commemorative event in the months-long, multi-event celebration.

The introduction is also designed to highlight the 10th anniversary celebration of PIDCI’s incorporation.

Drawing from the great tradition and unmatched fame of the Diwa ng Kalayaan (Spirit of Independence) Search, Selection and Coronation Pageant and Gala, PIDCI and its 266 member organizations look to the 10th anniversary celebration as another milestone to celebrate with pomp and pageantry with this added commemorative event.

The Mrs. Kalayaan USA 2012 Selection and Coronation Pageant and Gala takes place at the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Newark Airport Hotel at 128 Frontage Road in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight.
